Last Days of School

Hello Everyone,
As you all know, Tuesday is our last day of class with Dr.Rivera. It's going to be really sad, but hey, that's life for you. We have all learned so much together, and even though we don't all know each other, we have took this journey for a better future together. I hope everyone brings what they are suppose to bring so that we can enjoy our fellowship together. Thanks to everyone, we have made Dr. Rivera very proud at what we have done and accomplished. See you all in school one last time.

Saying goodbye,
Rowena
Well, I am done with my essay! It's the last assignment of the semester, and I can't believe it. I hope everyone did theirs. Well, I'll see everyone in class on Tuesday. It's going be a fun and sad day. I'm going to miss everyone!
Happy Mother's Day Dr. Rivera!
I'm so sad that this semester is over. We only have one class day left. I hope to see everyone there at the potlock. This class has really helped me, and I have really learned alot. I am also glad I had the chance to get to know everyone better. I'm going to really miss everyone!

Last blog for the week

I hope everyone passes the class. Do not forget about the essay. It is due this Tuesday. I am still working on mine. I just need to do a little more revision, and I am set. It is pretty interesting how far we all came and how much we have learned in such little time they give us. I hope the best for all of you.

Moodling no more....

I am very happy that Thursday was our last moodle session. It was hard and easy at the same time. It was an easy way to attend class. You can never be tardy. I am surprised school is almost over. Just a couple of more weeks, and we are done. Hang in there!

Poetry Assignment...

I thought it would be an easy "A", but it was not. I had to figure out what to write about. I went around to individuals that I knew and asked them, "What poems do you find interesting?", or "What kind of poems should I write about?" Most of them told me to write about "Self experience", and so I did. I hope you guys enjoyed my poems above all my nervousness and stuttering.

Still a lot that needs to be done....

We are nearing the end. Tuesday will be our last day together. I hope everyone had a great learning experience from Dr. Rivera's class. I am currently working on my last assignment, the "Self Reflection" essay. I hope I get a good grade for it.

Friday, May 8, 2009

Oh My Gosh!

The semester is almost over! I can not believe it. It was rough in the beginning but it was worth all the work.
Now I just hope I pass.
I am pretty sure everyone else did great, I was always late, and well I wish I wasn't because I feel like I missed out on a lot.
When there was a extra credit assignment last week- it was really fun.
I got close to a couple of our classmates!!
It was soo much fun. :)

Almost the end

Wow! Today was our last moodle session. I can't believe we've made it this far. Oh and by the way that is a really nice picture of the class. Man, it sucks I'm not in it but it's cool. Well it has been really fun this semester. I hope all of you have a great summer and all of you better keep in touch!
Last moodle session today! The handbook helped out a lot by learning the three stages of the writing process. It will be very helpful in writing a good essay.
Hi everyone! Time is nearing to say good-bye to all my fellow classmates and Dr. Rivera .I wish everyone the best of luck in their goals in life. I hope to see you in another class someday. I thank Dr. Rivera for introducing me to moodle and blog. It's a fun way of learning new technology for educational purposes. So take care and don't forget our final essay due on the last day of class.
Hi everyone! Sorry I could'nt blog on Saturday and tell you about what we did for the extra credit. I really enjoyed myself with my fellow classmates who were there. I really enjoyed being in the conference room with Dr. Rivera. Gloriette and I were helping out Dr. Rivera pass out children's books and worksheets. It was an experience for myself , since I'm majoring in earlychildhood education. I also experienced different groups of child care providers in doing a lot of brainstorming, clustering, and gathering information from children's books. I really learned a lot that day and I'm thankful for Dr. Rivera to have me experience what Professional leadership conference is all about.I also enjoyed selling children's books with my classmates. Good job to all who were there.

Last day of moodle!

Today for our last moodle we had to write about what was most helpful to us from the Handbook. To me it was making an outline because in college you need to write a lot of essays and making an outline makes it much easier.

Hey!

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone learned a lot during this semester especially from EN100. I've learned so much from the handbook. It's amazing how the semester ended so soon. I just wanted to say best of LUCK to all of you and keep doing what motivates you to succeed. " Every step you take leads you to another world".

This for Tuesday!!

Hey I hope everyone passes the class!!Good Luck to everyone!! Enjoy the week!

Last Days of Moodling!

For me I thought that the most helpful source in the text book was the use of brainstorming and the different writing stages. I also liked annotating and the way an exact outline should look like. I always seemed to get that question wrong on the test until finally I looked at it closely and it made sense. I also really got familiar with the cause and effect and argument and persuasion. On the extra credit, the people who showed up would talk and it related so well to the topic we had discussed in class. I am sure going to miss moodle!

I'm going to miss all of you guys when the semester is over. Hopefully we'll have classes next time!

Signing in one last time,
Ro

Last Moodle Session

Today is our last moodle session.
I think we all should give ourselves some
credit for trying for this semester.
I grew with some people in our
class, and I hope for the best in
our future.

I have used many strategies from the
English book and applied them to my
daily assignments! =)

Be safe everybody,
and Let's EAT OUT on the 12th.

BRING SOMETHING TO EAT w/ the class!

What's happening?

Hey everyone! Sorry I couldn't make it to class again today. Well I'm at the Hospital right now, my godson got admitted again yesterday. So I'm here right now watching him. So we have a week or two more days of class so what is happening now? What is this I hear about a party? Let me know.

--Camille
Hey everyone,
It's me, Rowena. Saturday was a really long day but it was totally worth it. Dee, Andrea, Tash, and I walked around the campus and sold books for LBJ Elementary School: Reading for Success. It was so fun even though we got introuble because we tried to sell books inside the library. Hahhahha, it was a great laugh. And the best thing about selling outside of the School of Education is getting an AmeriCorps job offer, I was so thrilled since recently I lost my job. I just turned my application in and tomorrow I have an interview. I'm excited!!! Hope everyone is ready for finals, due tomorrow, and then on Thursday we party!

See you guys,
Rowena

Extra Credit!!

Wow!! Saturday felt like it was never gonna end. Time really went by slow. The conference wasn't that bad. I sold a good amount of books. It was also fun getting to know some of our classmates more. It was good bonding. Oh yeah, and I even got a job application that I am surely going to apply for. I'm glad that I decided to go, because it was a good experience.

Moodle Session

Argument is when you are trying to fight for your opinions and your case. Persuasion is trying to get someone to act and think the way that you want them to. This is common in getting a loan at any bank, they try to convince you to apply with them, making you think that it's a good idea when it's actually going to get you into some big trouble. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience. With any argument, there is controversy right behind it. This is why you have to really think about it and trust your instincts.

History Of The Creed

Here's a little history of the NCO creed to help yoo, the reader, understand it's origin and purpose a little better. I hope this helps you a little in your struggle to success in life. Happy journey.

The Creed has existed in different versions for a number of years. Long into their careers, sergeants remember reciting the NCO Creed during their induction into the NCO Corps. Nearly every NCO’s office or home has a copy hanging on a wall. Some have intricate etchings in metal on a wooden plaque, or printed in fine calligraphy. But a quick glance at any copy of the NCO Creed and you will see no author's name at the bottom. The origin of the NCO Creed is a story of its own.

In 1973, the Army (and the noncommissioned officer corps) was in turmoil. Of the post-Vietnam developments in American military policy, the most influential in shaping the Army was the advent of the Modern Volunteer Army. With the inception of the Noncommissioned Officer Candidate Course, many young sergeants were not the skilled trainers of the past and were only trained to perform a specific job; squad leaders in Vietnam. The noncommissioned officer system was under development and the army was rewriting its Field Manual 22-100, Leadership, to set a road map for leaders to follow.

Of those working on the challenges at hand, one of the only NCO-pure instructional departments at the U.S Army Infantry School (USAIS) at Fort Benning, Georgia, GA was the NCO Subcommittee of the Command and Leadership Committee in the Leadership Department. Besides training soldiers at the Noncommissioned Officers Academy, these NCOs also developed instructional material and worked as part of the team developing model leadership programs of instruction.

During one brainstorming session, SFC Earle Brigham recalls writing three letters on a plain white sheet of paper... N-C-O. From those three letters they began to build the NCO Creed. The idea behind developing a creed was to give noncommissioned officers a "yardstick by which to measure themselves."

When it was ultimately approved, the NCO Creed was printed on the inside cover of the special texts issued to students attending the NCO courses at Fort Benning, beginning in 1974. Though the NCO Creed was submitted higher for approval and distribution Army-wide, it was not formalized by an official army publication until 11 years later.

Though it has been rewritten in different ways, the NCO Creed still begins its paragraphs with those three letters: N-C-O. It continues to guide and reinforce the values of each new generation of noncommissioned officers.

The NCO'S Creed

No one is more professional than I. I am a Noncommissioned Officer, a leader of soldiers. As a Noncommissioned Officer, I realize that I am a member of a time honored corps, which is known as "The Backbone of the Army". I am proud of the Corps of Noncommissioned Officers and will at all times conduct myself so as to bring credit upon the Corps, the Military Service and my country regardless of the situation in which I find myself. I will not use my grade or position to attain pleasure, profit, or personal safety.

Competence is my watchword. My two basic responsibilities will always be uppermost in my mind -- accomplishment of my mission and the welfare of my soldiers. I will strive to remain tactically and technically proficient. I am aware of my role as a Noncommissioned Officer. I will fulfill my responsibilities inherent in that role. All soldiers are entitled to outstanding leadership; I will provide that leadership. I know my soldiers and I will always place their needs above my own. I will communicate consistently with my soldiers and never leave them uninformed. I will be fair and impartial when recommending both rewards and punishment.

Officers of my unit will have maximum time to accomplish their duties; they will not have to accomplish mine. I will earn their respect and confidence as well as that of my soldiers. I will be loyal to those with whom I serve; seniors, peers, and subordinates alike. I will exercise initiative by taking appropriate action in the absence of orders. I will not compromise my integrity, nor my moral courage. I will not forget, nor will I allow my comrades to forget that we are professionals, Noncommissioned Officers, leaders!

This is the creed that Dr. Rivera has been asking for. I hope that some of you read this and apply the values in your everday lives. It definitely is a way to treat people and the standards are common, everyday respect that should be given to others and maintained within. Thank you.

Feb. 24-raynna88

We've met in room EC202(computer lab) this day. I hope that everyone had studied on editing for the final exam.

Feb. 19-raynna88

I was absent this day too because I had to get the results of my PPD skin test read. It came out negative like I hoped. Thanks for your concern(if any)=)

It's speaking Chinese!

I'm here in the Library because the computer lab is packed.
Earlier I had trouble getting online to this Blog spot...It was
all encripted in Chinese I think!

Aside from all that, I had done my two postings for our
moodle session today!

Congrats to Dr. Rivera, 2nd time in the paper today.
For the Education!! whoo whoo!

February 17-raynna88

I was absent on this day because I was sick with the flu and I had to take my PPD skin test to check if i was TB positive, but I'm not so you don't have to worry. Have a good day=)

February 12-raynna88

Met in the computer lab again this day. Reading up on the Organizing Support on page 45. I hope that you all studied for the up comming test(s)/final exam.

February 10-raynna88

Another moodle session for this day. We read about The Writing Process: Stage Two Writing the Controlling Idea/Organizing and Developing Support on page 40. It wasn't fun reading for me this day. I hope that everyone had more fun than I did.

February 5-raynna88

We're moodling today for our class time. We also have our All About Me Essay due this day. Good luck to everyone and maybe getting an "A" for this assignment.

Febraury 3-raynna88

We met in the computer lab agian and we were learning about Stage One of The Writing Process: Exploring/Experimenting/Gathering Information on page 31. We talked about Underlining, Annotating, and Outlining. I prefer Outlining because it really helps with the gathering of my thoughts and ideas.

january 27-raynna88

Yeah we met in the computer lab on the 2nd floor in the EC building this day. How fun??? (sarcastically) Though it was educating for me to be learning how to moodle and blog. It was kind of my first time really being on the computer and using the internet, considering I don't have a computer and I'm not really that computer literate.
What's up guys? It's been awhile since I last posted. Anyway, for starters, how did you all do on your last test? I don't know about you guys but I need to start shaping up. I'm doing ok but if I want to pass this class I have to do some crazy extra credit and Ace the final.
-Shoot guys. Dan
Hey, what is up everyone? Well I just finished my moodle not to long ago, so now I'm just blogging. This week went by pretty fast don't you think? I think so it's already Thursday and yeah. Well I don't know what else to say so BYE!

Holly Cow

Wow, today was crazy. First I got a flat and then I had cramps, so I was really- like really late for class. So late that I didn't even get to stay, because I was in such pain. Tomorrow I have to get a doctors note so I am not counted absent.
Well right now I am trying to figure out which final exam assignment I should do because I have no idea which is even the easiest when all of them are hard! Its either so long or I don't even understand what the heck its talking about to do. :(
If someone knows which might be easiest or more understanding please let me know.. that would be very helpful.

signing out- Andrea.
Hey eveyone. How are all of you doing? As for me I'm not feeling so well, that's why I miss class today. But I'm still trying to keep up with my blogging. Oh my gosh, this sememster is almost coming to an end, we just have a few more weeks left. I hope all of you had fun this semester, I sure did. Well anyways I'll see you all next class meeting!

For Thursday!!

I won't be able to go on Thursday due to work so I'm going online today. The earlier the better. Well have a wonderful week and weekend.

Hey

Hi everyone! Class was easy and the time went by so fast. I hope everyone enjoyed class today anyways got to go so see you all in the next class meeting.

5 Days!

  Hello everyone,
I am relieved but sad that class will be ending soon, on our calendar there are only five days till summer. For some of us its free time and for the others it's crazy school. I'm sure all of us will make it to the end, for some it's a degree in studies, and the other's in business. I love the fact that all of our future's will be bright because of attending school. I hope each of us did well on our last test so we all can have smiles by the end of the semester. Start doing your final papers to get ahead, and outrun the rush of finals.

Stay safe everyone,
Rowena.
Well, this is my last blog of the week. I missed the last test. I studied alot for it, so hope I do good on the make-up. This blogging is getting easier. I'm sure gonna miss it when the semester is over. Well, I hope to see everyone in the next class session.
Well, this week was okay. That test wasn't that bad. I could of remembered a little more material, but it was okay.
Wow! The end of the semester is coming fast. Well, the test options were kinda cool. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I will figure it out. I hope I did good on the test!

ZEE TEST ON THURSDAY!

Well, I hope the title does not really need to be spelled right, because I put "Zee" to have a little style in it from "Thee." The test on Thursday was pretty good, however I always hate how I always come late to class. I hope I passed with an A! Highly unlikely, but it does not hurt to hope.

Comparison and Contrast...

The method of comparison and contrast is pretty interesting. Finding the similarities and differences between subjects is a great method to apply to anything. When you go shopping for groceries or for a new car, you compare prices and quality. I think this method is great when you are on a budget.

Zig Ziglar..

Zig Ziglar is a great motivational speaker. I will be presenting one of his quotes in class. I will try to incorporate the method of comparison and contrast in my quote. I hope everything turns out right. See you guys soon. I hope you guys enjoy the show.
I presented my quote on Thursday, and now we have the opportunity to get extra credit by presenting another quote. This time it has to be on power point though. Well, our results from the previous test came in, and I didn't do a good job, but I hope I did better for the Chapter 9-11 test that was given that day.

Tests....Chapters...Class

I did not do so well on the test. I was kind of expecting it, since I did not have that much time to study. I always get mixed up in the "fill in the blank section." Then when Dr. Rivera reads out the answers, in my head I always seem to repeat the same words "Oh I see." As things progress in class, everything seems to get a lot easier to understand, which makes me very happy.

Elated...

I am ecstatic that we have choices for our final exam. I was really stressing out about the exam, but now I am at ease. I look forward to writing poems and maybe even a short story.
Hey guys,
It's me again. I hope everyone is ready with the choice of the three options
that were given to us, if you decide on not taking the final exam with
all 16 chapters. I hope that you guys enjoy the rest of the weekend, and I will
see you in class next week.
Later.
Hey guys,
I hope everyone a had good week, and that everyone did well on the last
test we just had this past Thursday. I am just trying to catch up with everything, like
our class blog, because every little point could make a big difference towards our
final grade.

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Hey Everyone!

I hope all of you did great on the test. Class was pretty alright today. I hope you guys have fun and enjoy your weekend!

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Oh boy

I didn't do very well on my last two tests. Hopefully, I did better on the last one from last week. I was super late for that class too. Well, I seriously did not know that there was going to be a test this Thursday! I just read it from one of the blog entries. And I definitely commented on that one.
Anyways, everyone, good luck on the test, and I will see you Thursday.
Goodnight.

Hi Everyone!

I hope everyone had a good week so far. See all of you in class on Thursday!
Hi everyone! I hope you all studied for the test on Thursday. I'm just getting started on my moodle session on comparison and contrast. Well, see you all on Thursday and good luck on the test.

Monday, April 20, 2009

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? As for me it was my godson's 1st birthday party so we celebrated it at the beach and plus I worked. So today is our Moodle session. I'm on it right now thinking of examples for comparison and contrast. Well, don't forget to Moodle today. I'll see you all in class on Thursday.

Sunday, April 19, 2009

Hey Everyone!!
Wow, the semester is almost over. This class has so far been a fun experience with learning and understanding new writing material that I havent learned before. I have learned to make my writing so much better.
Well, I hope to see everyone in the next class session.

Hoping for the best!

Hello everyone,
It's the beginning of the week again, and things are about to heat up because were heading to the end of the semester. I'm excited because I can now enroll myself into being a full time student instead of just being part time. As for our test that we had last week, I hope I passed it. I honestly didn't familiarize myself that well with the chapter and I admit I did do some cramming, but I hope all is good and I at least pass it with a C and nothing below. I hope everyone did good also and see you guys in class this week.

7 & 8 Year Old..

I taught my seven-year-old sister and my eight-year-old brother
how to use the brainstorming technique! My brother really thought
it was really cool to learn something like this with collecting ideas, and
it another interesting form of making a list of related things/items
in bubbles! My sister, on the other hand, responded to this brainstorming
activity and said, "Does this really work, using bubbles?" They both were intrigued with this technique!

Hi everyone! I know our moodle session is about classification and I thought it was fun. Anyways good luck on Test #4, which is on Thursday, April 23, 2009. So please everyone don't forget.
Hi everyone! I hope everyone did well on Test #3. As for me, I really think I didn't do well. I really needed more time, because there was alot of writing. Anyways see you all on Thursday.
Hello my fellow classmates. Well this is my second blog. I finished up my Moodle for this week and hopefully keeping up with my blog attendance.

miSsinG yOU..

Hi everyone. Hope everything is fine. Spring is almost over. Good luck on your studies. Hope to see you next semester.

Bam.

I think I did well on that last test.
Now we all have to be ready for the other
test next week! I know there is a lot to
study, but come on, we all need to forward
ourselves.

Let's try harder and harder.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Hey everyone!
So how did everyone do on the test on Tuesday? I personally think I didn't do so well. I'm anxious about getting my test back. Anyway, I just finished my Moodle and I thought it was pretty easy writing about classification.

P.S. Have a good weekend!
Well, today's lesson was pretty neat to learn. I like classification. Having a subject and breaking it down was really easy and very useful at the same time. It was fun reading and learning it.

I've got to stop

Last class Dr. Rivera told me that I only have one more chance before I get that 5 absences!
So now I've got to get my stuff straight. Yeah, I know that I've been saying that practically all the time, but this time it is for real. I am going to try to be more prepared. There is actually only 4 more Moodles (counting today's Moodle session) and 4 more class meetings. So let's get it done!!

:)- Andrea
Moodle time again!

Anyways today moodle wasn't that bad. It was pretty interesting, because it was on classification, and I learned a thing or two from my job. Being a teacher's aide you can teach kindergartners the different classes objects fall under. I know; shocking huh? Well anyways, so I used what I learned from the book and put it as my examples.

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Hey everyone. Well I just did my Moodle, so I'm doing my second blog for today. Well, we're doing Moodle on Tuesday, right? Well I hope I'm up to date with everything and hope you all are too. Have a nice day and a nice weekend. Have Fun!

Make Those Days Up!

So I was told that I have some missed days that are affecting my grades. I've been given the chance to make them up by re-posting all my missed Moodle sessions, as well as my blog entries. I'm really determined to finish this course and not have to retake it another semester. I hope everyone has done well on keeping up their grades, as well as their tests and attendance. See you all on Thursday's class.

Signing out,
Rowena.
Hey everyone. How was your spring break? As for me, it was alright. I just started work. Well, I'm getting off the topic. Today we had a test. How did you think you guys did? Man, I hope you guys did well. I hope I did too. Well, see you all in the Moodle session on Thursday.

Hi Everyone!

I'm logging in for Thursday in case I happen to not log in here. It's better to go on now then later anything can happen. Well I hope everyone have a great weekend.

Hey!

Hey Everyone! Class was okay. The test was a little longer than I thought. I hope all of you enjoyed our spring break I needed it. Enjoy the rest of the day!

Spring Breaking..

I recently found myself a new job!
and I'm so proud of it.. for now.

I hope that with this hectic schedule
my work is putting me under, school,
and maybe a second job that I'll still
be on track with my assignments,
moodling, etc...

Hope all you have a great spring break!

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Well I hope everybody is doing their part in this thing.
Also, since it's Easter break. I hoped we did not have homework,
however, we do, and I have been doing it lately.

Monday, April 6, 2009

Well, it is spring break week. Hope everyone is having fun. We have a test when we get back. Hope everyone remembers to study a little. I think this test is going to be a big one. Well, I'll see everyone a week from now.

-tasha
Well, last class was good. That presentation in the library was neat. It was cool learning some new things about writing. New ways to teach and learn.

Saturday, April 4, 2009

blast from the past

Hey everyone,
I really enjoyed the presentation on Tuesday. Having Ms. Quezada present made me feel like I was back in middle school. Anyway, I finished the Moodle so I'm done for the week. I hope everyone has a great spring break! See you all next class meeting!

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Ahead..

I am doing well...

I did my work!

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Hello classmates,
Well as you know, we had class at the library yesterday because we had a presentation. Honestly, I did enjoyed it but I thought it could have been better if it was prepared. I missed my classmates however, and was happy to see them in a long time. Well I was suppose to present my quote but it must have slipped my mind. So next class meeting I will present my quote and hopefully it can motivate you guys.
Love, Dee

mushi mushi

I really enjoyed the last presentation we had in
AV1. (In the library). Lynn was really great.
I hoped for a more detailed presentation though,
I wanted to go over those audio clips she
had from her previous teachings.

I had a great time.
This past presentation actually gave me
more motivation to re-read that book,
Sodoku? Not quite sure, it is with the
sickly girl, dying.

OH, yes. Daniel GREAT presentation
it was very interesting, and motivating.
I wish though I can act upon your quote.
"Do something you love to do, rather then
doing something your forced to." (in other words)
But my parents have Major plans I must follow,
I have no choice, and I know it's for my best interest!

Tuesday!

Hello everyone,
It's been awhile since the last time I blogged, life for me is very busy and I barely have the time to take care of myself. On our Tuesday session, we had a presentation on how there are different resources that relate to literary elements that deal with english. I was also very fortunate to get my test back with a grade letter B, I was so happy because I really thought I was going to fail because I didn't prepare that well. I hope everyone is doing good, see you all in Thursday's class.

Signing out,
Ro.

feeling tired...

Hey guys,
i feel like its been forever since I've seen everyone. Because not a lot of you came to class last time or even this time...
Well last class we relocated and also had a different person speak to us today.
it was really cold in that class I couldn' really concentrate.
I was also pretty tired from my job.
Well I havr classin about an hour so I got to get ready! :)
Hey everyone! How are all of you doing? What did you guys think of last meeting? I thought the presentation that Ms. Quezada did.(Sorry I forgot her married name) I was kind of lost though but her presentation was really interesting it would have been better if the links were working but its alright! Well take it easy!

Acoustic Poem

Sharon had asked if anyone would like to share their acoustic poem using our name on test#2. So here is mine.

Reading and writing
Has a reflect
On how we
Need to learn the
Different kinds of writing
Associated with EN100.
Hi everyone! I would like to say good job on your quote, Daniel. Good luck to everyone on test #3 , which is on April 14,2009. Happy Easter to everyone and also Dr. Rivera! Enjoy your spring break!
Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the presentation by Lynn Quezada. Anyways, I enjoyed hearing the Two-Voice Poem. It's an interesting subject to learn about. I think I will read the books " Under the Blood Red Sun " and " SADAKO and the thousand Paper Cranes ".

Monday, March 30, 2009

Hey!

Hi how was everyone's weekend? I hope everyone had fun. We all meet in class today unfortunately I would be a little late. Well I hope everyone enjoys class today and see all of you soon.
Hey everyone,
How was everyone's weekend? My weekend did not go so well because I got sick. I am getting better though. How did everyone do on the test? I got an okay grade but I want to do better. Well I just finished doing the moodle. I'm still trying to fully understand Analysis by Division. But I think I'm getting it.

Last blog for the week...

Did anyone do the extra credit on the exam? The one we had to make a poem by using our names. I did and it went like this:

S haring is what I do best
H ere in this world
A nyone who knows me
R egards me as a person who is honest, kind, friendly and
O verall
N ice and naughty

I remember doing this in elementary. Would anyone care to share their poem?

Finally I caught up....

It is hard for me to blog. I always have to try and find free time to do it. Also I have to find a computer that has internet access. I enjoy blogging. It feels like a journal to me. I write how I feel, experienced and learned in class. I wonder what I will learn this week? I also wonder if Kennan is ever gonna show face? Well see you guys in class.

I have noticed a change....

I feel that my writing skills have improved greatly since I first started. I thought I was good in writing, but after going to class and reading the book I was not so sure. I did not know that we always have to separate the words like don't and can't to do not and can not. I hope everyone feels the same.

Slowly, but surely....

As I sit here and think about my time spent in class, I feel that I am accomplishing something great for my future. I intend on being a high school teacher. Knowing the material that is being taught in class will help me inspire my future students. For example, outlining will help me organize what I plan to teach for the school year.Brainstorming can help me find ways to make the material I teach interesting so my students will not get bored in class. I just hope I manage to retain all the information that I have learned.

Catching up....

I did not do my blogs for last week. I had nothing really to write about. I can talk about my weekend even though nothing interesting happened. I know we all have to do the blog, but what if we do not have anything to write about? I can probably state how I feel about my recent test scores. I am satisfied. Is anyone else satisfied about their results?

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Well this being my last blog of the week, this week has been okay. Learning about new ways to write and how to write has really been nice. Well see everyone on Tuesday.
Well this week went by fast. Wow I never knew about Analysis by Division. It was nice reading about it though. Class was okay too. Good Luck and have a safe trip Greg.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

I feel so lost this whole week since my grandma came back. Anyways the moodle today was kind of confusing and time fly by so fast when I trying to understand what to do. If my moodle wasn't correct I emailed Dr.Rivera about it.

Greg I hope that you'll be safe where ever you go.
Heeey Greg!
=D Stay safe out there, try to keep in touch with all of us!
We will miss you!!!

-The moodle for today is hard since I do not have a book at the moment. =[
-I have a feeling I am not going to get a good grade this semester for most of my classes....
Hi Greg! I hope you have a safe deployment and take care of yourself. I will think of you in prayers.

*Rhonda
Hey! How is everyone doing? So I heard that Greg was deployed, hope your safe where your at, remember ONE TEAM ONE BREATH!
Hi everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed class on Tuesday, even though there was just a few of us .I really enjoyed Chapter 8, exercise one when we had to list fifteen forms of exercises and write a short paragraph. It was very interesting.
Hi Everyone!
During our last meeting we all met in class and got to do a lot of work and understanding on the topic that we needed to learn about. I didnt get the chance to go in moodle or blog because I was so busy today!!imagine that!! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

class today

I rushed over from NEX to class today.

Only to find out that there was not any class
today, because we're having this online
session today!
I'm just finishing up my moodle for today.
*
Analysis by Division – Readings for Critical Thinking, Discussion,
and Writing; Student Paragraph and Essay

There is two parts to moodle with today, online though.
This seems pretty intresting to finish and blogg.

Have a great day & safe weekend!

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

hey everyone

Last class there weren't really much people there.
And again, I was a little late, so I had to sign my name under the RED line. =(
Lately, I have been pretty busy with work and procrastinating with school.
I need to try harder. I always tell myself that, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyway, see you guys next class & make sure everyone does there blogs and posts
comments there as well.

Hey Everyone! We did a lot today! Anyways class was a little fun and interesting I learned a lot!Have a great week see you all in our next class meeting...

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Well being the last blog of the week. I hope that everyone had a good - okay weekend.
Hope everyone is ready to get back into learning in class. Every ones quotes in class was very inspirational I really enjoyed hearing and understanding them. Well see you in the next class secession.
The test seemed kind of hard. I hope that I did good on it though.
This week was okay. Even though we didn't do much because of moodle and having a test. Well see everyone next week.
I hope everybody did good on the test! I know I did better than the last one we did, because i was in a rush on that one. The acoustic part of the test was really a great way to think out side of the box in literature for me in my perspective.
Sorry that I did not go on my blog yet, because I got grounded and I could not go to my friends house to go online. Right now I kind of sneaked out to a computer cafe to do it. Well everybody seems to be doing good, and I just finished off commenting people who has 0 comments. Hopefully I will get some extra credits.

The Test + My Cold=

Good morning!

Previously, our class was given a test, that was based upon
what we've learned this semester, I thought I did pretty well,
because I studied a bit. I did not study to my fullest because I have
a lot going on in my life at the moment.

I hope all did well on the test.
good luck on the upcoming strikers!!!

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Hi everyone! I hope you all did well on the test today. I really enjoyed doing the acoustic poem on my name. It was very interesting to learn something new.

TEST #2

Hello classmates! Well today we took again another test. I wasn't ready for it and was surprised when Ronda told me about it. I guess with my grandparent off-island it's so hard to be "SuperGirl". Well I'm done with my mid-term paper, hopefully it went through.
Well got to do some other homework so goodbye.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Hi Everyone!
We are taking test #2 today I hope everyone does great and good luck! See all of you in class!

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Hi everyone! Good luck on your Self-Reflection essay and Test #2.
So, study! study! study!

very stuck

Gosh, I am really suck with this assignment that we have to do.
I am trying to think but nothing is popping in my head. =(
I might have to turn this in a bit late. Yeah, I know sad to say, huh.
Anyways I hope everyone is ready for Test #2 that we all will be taking next class.
I sure know I am not.

Signing out- Andrea.
Wow this Self-Reflective essay is kinda stressing. I am not even sure what to really write about. I am gonna finish it though. Well since there was no class today, I hope everyone had a good weekend. See everyone in class Thursday!
Well Thursday's class was kinda cool learning about Narrative. I really did not know that much about it, but understanding and reading allowed me to get it. It was nice and maybe it can help me on my future work.

Hey

Hi everyone! I hope everyones done with their Self Reflection Essay. It was tough writing it, but I made it through. Anyways, I hope everyone had a great week at least what's left of it. Enjoy your day!

Monday, March 16, 2009

Oh my gosh. I didn't get to blog last week, and I feel so behind. I think I am, man I lost! Can somebody help me out and update me with things? I'm kind of confused with the calender of events not sure why though.

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Another one is due...

Our Self-Reflection essay is almost due. It is very tempting to portray myself as an excellent and outstanding individual, but I am not. I have many faults especially when it come to class assignments and participation. Since this is a non-fictional essay and I have to go by facts, it will be hard but I will do my best to my abilities. I believe we all deserve an "A".

Test Results....

So... how did everyone do? I am pretty sure we all did fine. I messed up in some questions. For example, number twelve the question goes, "Underlining helps you to read with ____ ." I put ease for my answer. "Underlining helps you to read with ease." I was wrong. I am satisfied with the grade I got, it is what I deserved. I hope everyone got a grade that they are satisfied with and if you do not there is always next time. "Good Luck!"

Leah's essay...

I just did my moodle that was due since Tuesday. It is quite fascinating to see how the writing process went for Leah. She went through the whole process. If I was going to write an essay I would have skipped a couple of steps. I would probably only have done freewriting and applied CLUESS and COPS. I am pretty sure my fellow classmates would do the same.

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Hey everyone,
This week has gone by so fast for me. How did everyone like that day off because of Charter Day? I forgot we had a moodle that day but thankfully Dr. Rivera gave us til the end of the week to do it. Anyway, on Thursday I presented my quote so I hoped you guys liked it. Oh and I got my test back. I could have done better but I'm happy with what I got. How did everyone else do?
Have a good weeked
Hey guys,
I hope everyone like my little power point presentation on my quote. I kind of went a bit overboard on the quote event still could of wrote a few sentences of what I thought of it. But I thought it was a very good quote and I had many things to say about it. So, let everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend and catch you guys next time we meet in class next week.
Later
Hey classmates,
Hope everyone a good time at charter day this past Tuesday and having no classes that day too. But I forget that we had a moodle session on that day too. I'm glad that Dr. Rivera gave us the end of the week to get it done and like to thank her for this chance to not to lose any points.
Hello again! Well I stayed back after class to retake my test, and I am really glad that i got the chance to do so, however i hated the fact that I also had a math test right the next class, so i rushed the test even though I know that it was a bad idea to do so.
Hello everybody! Well this is supposed to make up for my Tuesday blog, so here it is.

Well Thank God we did not have class today, because it is super HOT! I practically wanted to quit in life and go home, well metaphorically. The band that was playing was pretty good because i knew the people in the band. Also i hope everybody tried the rock climbing, because i did not :(.

Friday, March 13, 2009

Absent.

Man I am disappointed at myself for missing class yesterdayl. I take my attendace very seriously so it kept bothering me yesterday. We like I said in my last blog, my grandparents are off-island so I had to pick up my cousins from school. I thought I was able to make it but was proven wrong because of traffic. I seriously think that has been an increase with cars on the road because lately I have always seem to get stuck in traffic.
Anyways thanks Ronda for informing me about class and Jay and Andrea for caring to check up on me. Don't worry everything is fine with me, just missing my favorite class.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Hi everyone! Good job on my fellow classmates, on their quotes. I really enjoyed listening.
Today I've learned about narrative ,which is an account of an incident or a series of incidents
that make up a complete and significant action. Also the narrative patterns: situation, conflict,
struggle, outcome, meaning.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Hi!

Its been awhile since I've seen all of you. I wont be able to come to class today because am not feeling well. I hope class was fun and everyone learned something new today. Well enjoy what's left with this week and have a great weekend.

Classmates!

It has been a while since we last saw each other which was during the time we took our test. We didn't have class this week Tuesday because it was Charter Day but then we had to moodle online. Thankfully, Dr. Rivera extended moodle till the end of this week. Well today we have class at four but I might come a little bit late because my grandparents are off island and nobody is able to pick up my cousins from school. I almost thought that there was no classes today but thankfully I asked Andrea, so THANK YOU ANDREA!
Today I spent most of my day with Rowena from her weigh in at the naval station and she passed her physical so CONGRADULATIONS Ro!

Extended Assignments

Hello everyone,
As you know Dr.Rivera has been so kind to let our moodle session be extended till the end of the week. This gives us no excuse not to complete the assignment. Last moodle session I was unable to complete it due to my working situations, that gives me one absent so far for the semester. I hope everyone has kept up their assignments and is ready for the "Self Reflection," paper that is due on March 17, 2009. Let's all be good students and complete is nice and organized; on time. Hope to see everyone in class.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

I'm pretty late on my post. Essay writing is pretty easy. Can't wait for next class to see how we can put these to use. Anyway, the test was pretty easy. Too bad I studied last minute.

Alright, hope to see you guys for Charter Day. Ok shoot!
Well this is my last blog of the week. This blogging really just seems so simple now. Class is going really good. I hope I did okay on the test. This weekend has been really packed this week, but im glad that I made home in time to blog, I almost forget I hadn't blog yet. Well I hope everyone has had a good weekend. Hope to see everyone in the next class session.

-tasha
Hey Everyone!
Well this week we learned about essay writing. It was fun reading about how an essay is made up and what the parts are in writing an essay. I think its so true though. I'm not really an essay person, but if its writing an essay that I am into I won't be able to stop writing. So in the end it was fun learning more about essays.

Celebrate Charter Day - EN100 Moodle Session Extended!

Dear EN100 Students,

Tuesday is set aside as a Moodle session, as indicated in the Calendar of Events. However, in celebration of Charter Day, I will extend the Moodle deadline to the end of the week. Thus, this will give you additional days to complete the assignment. Good luck, and enjoy Charter Day!

Best regards,
Dr. Rivera
Well on Thursday we had our moodle session. It was about writing essays. Well I hope we get to discuss more about it the next time we meet. Oh and I was wondering if we have class on Tuesday because I am off for the other classes I have.

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Dear classmates,

Well Thursday's moodle was about essays. Well I love writting an essay because it pretty easy once you understand the outline of one. Of course you need to have a topic sentence because without one, your essay won't know where it will be headed. It's like planning your time while you are in college, you need to know what you want to major in so you know what classes to take. The classes will be the supporting sentences to your topic sentence. And recieving your diploma is the conclusion because you finished did everything need into achiving your goals and know everything that you remembered from your class.

Well life for me has been stressful. I've been working while going to class in the afternoon then I have to do my physical activity to stay in shape. In all it's pretty hard to work out because I get so tired from everything, which is bad and unhealthy. So this week I am going to try and change it.

---Dee

Friday, March 6, 2009

Since the Tuesday plan for class did not work, I made a promise to show up to class no matter what happens. So I showed up and no one was in class and the next best thing is to look for a classmate and see if we actually have class somewhere else or if it was a blog online day. I bumped into Rogelio and he told me it was online today, so I was super bummed out at the moment and wanted to cry. Well metaphorically I wanted to, but I did not.
Well I had a stomach flu on Tuesday and it was not all nice and easy. I do not want to get into details, however I am sorry I could not show up to class and take the test. I was going to show up and be a nice student, but I got sick.

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Hey everyone
I just finished our moodle assignment awhile ago. I just wrote about what an essay is to me and my experience with it. It also reminded me that I should get started with my essay for this class and my other class. Anyway it's almost 12:00 pm so I should go to bed soon because I still have class tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

~rogelio
Hi everyone! Today I've learned that the developmental paragraph "is a group of sentences, each with the function of supporting idea called the topic sentence." And also the main parts of the developmental paragraph.

How was it?

Hey, how did you guys do on the test? As for me, I think I did okay. There were a couple of questions I wasn't too sure on. Anyways, I hope we all pass!

AND!

I can't believe I am always the one late. I always try to be on time. I am the only one that always writes their name under the red line. :(

Bummer. I am going to try to be on time!

busy busy busy!!! =(

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing good. As for me, I am very busy! At my work our training is getting very difficult. We only have a week of training and then Hooters is open. As of now, I am struggling with memorizing all of what is specifically on the menus. Also I am having trouble remembering all of the dances and songs we are learning. It is not just one or two songs and dances, its more like 8-12 songs and dances put together. Tonight I have to go through another night of training. I am going to work hard to get through this successfully.
As far as the test we took last class meeting, well I don't think I did very well. I didn't even have time to study or go over what was going to be on the test. Its like there is no time in the day for all the things I need to get done.

signing out- andrea.

Hey!

Hi Everyone! I know am so early on this blog but am going to be busy later so I decided to just go online now and write what I got to say. Well I hope everyone had an okay week and enjoy the weekend. So I'll see all of you on our next class meeting day.
Hey Everyone!
Am late on this Tuesday blog but we had a test on Tuesday and I hope everyone did good on there test. It was kind of easy but I got by with it. I didn't get to study that much but I hope all of you did.

Test

hey everyone
We had our first test yesterday. I thought the test was a bit difficult at some parts. I guess I didn't study as hard as i should have. Anyway how did everyone else do? I hope you all did well. I'll see you all next class meeting.
One test down, 3 more to go. To me, it was a little bit hard. I did not understand some of the questions. I am also glad that we had some extra credit questions, just in case I do bad. I hope I did good, well I hope everyone did good. See everyone next week. Do not forget to go on to moodle.
Hi everyone! I hope you all did well in the test today. I thought it was kind of hard. Anyways, I hope I answered enough to pass the test.Well, I hope everyone enjoys their week.

Test!

Hello classmates,

As you know there was a test today. I think it went well for "the first test" in EN100. It was pretty funny because I came in late because of traffic and was scared that i was going to get point deducted, but thankfully I came before Dr.Rivera. I was kind of shocked to see John and Greg there since they had to leave because of military reason. Anyways the test was pretty much what we learned in class from the book, and the extra credit was pretty intresting. I thought it was funny how Andrea's cell rang then Rowena's vibrated loudly. I love those funny moment, that is why this class is my favorite so far.

Test

Hey eveyone! How is everything going so far? As for me, it's been good. I'm still trying to find a job, can anyone help me? Anyways, we're going to the classroom today right and isn't the test today too? How do you think you guys are going to do? I hope it's not hard. Well see you all in class.

Sunday, March 1, 2009

Hey everyone!
Well on Thursday was our moodle session. I have missed the pass two online sessions and I am trying to make up all the stuff I have missed. I really like doing this moodling and blogging because it gets all of us involved in something. I still can not believe that our test is this Tuesday. I wonder how hard its going to be. Make sure all of you guys study. See you all on Tuesday.
Okay on Tuesday we learned some stuff about writing paragraphs. To me it was kind of easy to understand. Oh and we have a test coming up. I can not wait for that. Well see all of you guys next week.
Well, this is my second blog of the week, and I think I'm getting better and better at this blogging stuff. Well heads up; can you believe our first test is coming up? I hope everyone is ready. Oh yeah, I'm reading my quote in the next class session, and I hope everyone can relate to it as I can. It pretty much explains itself, and I think it is so true. Well, I have to go to a baseball game. I hope everyone has had a good weekend. See everyone in the next class session.

Wow...

It is pretty interesting to see how involved we are about blogging and moodling. I find it quite hard at times because I run out of things to write. I can't believe we are done with the writing stages! This semester is going by so fast. I hope that we all meet the requirements to pass the class. A word of advice, "Don't give up, don't give in, and proceed to succeed"

So Sorry....

I was not able to present my quote on Thursday. Hopefully, I will be able to present on Tuesday before the test. I wonder what the test will cover? I know for a fact the test will ask us about CLUESS and COPS. We will just have to wait and see. See you guys on Tuesday.
Oh classmates don't forget that we have a test coming up soon. It's time to study. Andrea call me so I can free my day.
Well, Thursday I was about to head to class right after work. I was even a mess, because I didn't have time to fix myself up, and I had to drop my sister to work. Well passing McDonalds in Harmon, Andrea called me and said there was online classes, and I felt stupid and took a U-turn back home. Then the funny thing was that Ro called me and told me that it's moodle, because she always reminds me and I told her the story of how I was on my way to class.
Well, I did my Moodle, but it was pretty hard, becasue I had a little disagreement about life choices with my uncle, and so I slept over at my mother's house where there is no internet. I am still here at the moment, but I have to go outside the house to try and steal internet.

Getting by...

Hey my people of EN 100. Hope all is going well with you. I hope you all are not having problems in and out of school. Anybody ready for a test on all the lessons we have learned lately? Shoot, I still need to work out some kinks on annotating things, such as "topic sentences" and "supportive sentences." I still can't quite get it, but I'm working on it.

Been a while

Whats up my fellow classmates? It's been a while since I last blogged. Anyway, I can't believe we are nearly complete with the basic "Writing Process". To think we only started a few months ago, but I learned how to get a better form of how to write my essays. I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait till this course is finished, so hopefully I can produce more professional writing assignments.

No one really knows this but I came to class on Thursday thinking that we had class and a test. The funny story is that I came to the classroom at four and no one was in there, so I just thought it was at four-thirty, so I just went around doing things to kill time and I bumped into Rojelio, and he told me that there was class online today instead of a face-to-face class session. Well, I hated myself just for a second right on the spot but I guess that is what I get for not looking at my class dates,
Well... It is Saturday today and I am at my friends house doing my blogs and everything else that is required to be done. I do not know if the week actually extends to Saturday's however I just hope I pass this semester! And I hope everybody passes in our class also. Anyway I'll see you all on Tuesday and can anybody comment me telling me when the test is?

Thursday, February 26, 2009

Starting over.

Last night I posted a blog, but I dont seem to see it now that I am looking to see if anyone commented. How odd, I didnt think I wrote anything wrong in it, so why don't I see it? Weird. Anyway I just came to the computer center to finish up my about me essay. It wouldnt open on my cousins laptop or even mine so here I am at school doing what I need to do.

Through out life I've always tend to learn things the hard way. I am so stingy that I have to do it the way I want to or I wont do anything at all. So I guess I am struggling right now and well I am just trying to get back up and face the "world" myself. I am 19 years old and I don't really feel independent. Oh, I long for that feeling dont get me wrong. Now that I've got to get things straight and I want to start my life all over again but this time try harder and don't give up. :)

Oh, yeah.. don't forget to study for the first test we have on Tuesday! Good luck everyone, and God bless!

Today is moodle doodle day.

Hi everyone,

How is everyones day going so far. As for me I am still not feeling well today. I am glad that today is moodle session that way I wouldn't have to miss class today. Well today we talked about the different stages of the writing process and how it is resourceful. I think that the different stages are really resourceful in writing an essay. Well Just a reminder don't forget to study for the test on Tuesday. Good luck Everyone.

Thursday Moodle!

For everyone who has moodled already I just wanted to say good job!

The writing process is very important when conducting an essay. Its a three step program that helps a writer organize and freely express his or hers ideas correctly on the paper. It's a process of freewriting, brainstorming, gathering, revising, and editing. By following this guideline, a writer's paper is neat and the information gathered is properly placed on the paper. This is important especially for college students who are learning the correct way to write a paragraph or an essay.

Hi everyone! Don't forget to study for the test on Tuesday. I wish everyone the best for the test. GOOD-LUCK! See you in class.

You got to..

You got to study for the upcoming test!
If you know what I mean.

The strategies of writing we should all
take into consideration  that it should help
us progress into becoming an effective
learner and writer.

I Hope that the moral/quote that I made
a presentation on has influenced you in some
way, shape or form!

GodBless, See you online later today!
Well, last class I came just in time, so I did not get any deductions in my grades, which was lucky for me. We got out of class early, and I enjoyed the free time I had on my hands. We'll see you all in class!

EC 101

Today was my first day in the actual classroom! Anyway i enjoyed class today even though we ended a bit early. Well today I learned the different types of paragraphs and the two basic patterns. I hope everyone enjoyed class today and I'll see you all on our next class meeting

Monday, February 23, 2009

Hi everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed class today, I know I did. Even though we got out early.
Anyways, I learned in class today about analyzing a paragraph in exercise one. There are two
basic paragraph patterns I've learned today, Pattern A- has a topic sentence, support, support,
and Pattern B- has a topic sentence, support, and a concluding sentence. I enjoyed class today
with my fellow classmates.

Hi Everyone!

I really enjoyed class today. It was fun and interesting. We got out early; that was a first time. Well enjoy your week!

*Gloriette
Hi everyone! I would like to share my quote I did in class today.
*Obviously, there is little you can learn from doing nothing. By : Zig Ziglar
If you don't put an effort on doing anything and just stay idol, you cannot progress
on learning anything at all. When you want something in life you have to make an effort

to do something you can learn from your mistakes ( if there is any ).

Hey!

Hey eveyone! How was the weekend? Did anyone go to he concert? Speaking about concert, I think Dr. Rivera deleted my blog about it. I guess it was inappropriate. Sorry, but does that mean I don't get the grade for blogging that day?

Oh and we're back to our old class room today. Well I'll see you all there in like about 30 minutes.

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Hey everyone can you believe we go back to a classroom on Tuesday. No computers! I hope everyone's weekend went good. Mine was busy, but nice. Well I'm kind of tired, so I hope to see everyone on Tuesday. I'm going to read my quote. I hope everyone can relate to it.
Till Tuesday,

Hey everyone. How are things going? Wow!! The team I was cheering for today won. They're undefeated, which is terrific. Sorry I couldnt make it to class on Thursay. Just by the reading what people wrote, it looks like it was fun. I read the material though. Lots to learn from. I know I will.

Who would have thought it...

I really enjoyed the class we had on Thursday. It was really fun and interesting. I noticed how everyone had a different view on correcting a paper. Everyone had their own opinion on how a sentence should be written. This is quite interesting, because we are all learning the same material. Even how everyone writes a paper; I find it quite cool that everybody's personality comes out in their work.

The day is near....

My presentation for my quote is coming up and I am nervous. I won't be doing anything fancy. I really hope it goes smooth and easy. I also pray that everyone understands the point I will try to make. Cross your fingers for me.

Thanks
Sharon S.
Well, while I am keeping up with blogging I would like to hope everyone will enjoy the weekend. Also, I hope everyone turned in their "All About Me" essay with all the editing and revising being made and that by our next paper we can apply the three stages of writing process like freewriting, outlining, etc. and see everyone back in our almost forgotten classroom on Tuesday.
Later.
Hey guys,
I know have not been blogging lately so I'm just trying to keep up with this and not lose any more points that could effect my final grade. So I'd like to hope that everyone will continue to blog and do all the moodle sessions also, because it could make big difference at the end.
Later.

Excited!

Even though I am not going to the concert tonight I think my weekend is going to be just fine. I am almost finish with my "All About Me" essay. I am always having to edit and revise errors here and there, but this is an English class, right? I hope it will turn out as a good paper and get a good grade but since I have a feeling I am going to get a low grade. I'm really trying to get the hang of going online, but I tend to get distracted with other things like work, family, and friends.
Well, today I went hiking with Rowena and her boyfriend. It was fun if you were wondering. Tonight I think we are going to hang out again, but right now I am trying to rest since I didn't sleep till 2 in the morning. So I am going to take a long nap now.

---Dee
Hey! I hope that everybody has fun on the weekend. Also, I am not so sure if my last comment had capitalized "I"s and I'm sorry for that, because I'm just pretty much used to it just being done without manually doing it myself. Anyway I hope things work out for everybody and take it from me, this blog and commenting is important, because it scores as an absence in the records.
Well, sorry I'm posting pretty late, and also I'm probably not really new to people in class right now, so I'll introduce myself here. Im Jae and I was the one that presented on the screen about the quote on Thursday. I hope you all enjoyed it, and I'll see you guys on Monday!

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Hi everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the exercises in class today. Well I did! I enjoyed working on exercise two, revising and editing. I hope it will help us learn more about writing an essay.

2nd blog

Hey everyone,
Class today at the computer lab was okay. I like having class when we get to see each other. Online is okay too, but I do prefer seeing everyone instead. Anyway today we just finished up on stage 3 of the writing process and did some exercises on the book. I'm not that good at editing so this stage is really helping me with it. That's it for now. See you all next week. Have an awesome weekend!

Loving the life I live!

I learned that English class is a very important class for college because in all my classes I always have to write a paper. Having En100, it reminds me what I need to do to turn in a good paper. Today we had computer session, and I miss seeing my wonderful classmates. Today we talked about Stage 3, the final stage. I also had time to email my "About Me" essay. I prefer to go to class than going online because I love school and I also need to see people in my age group instead of little children or older adults.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Hey people,
The day is almost over. Here in English 100 we are doing exercises together in the book. It sucks for me because I do not have my book yet. So sometimes Delonna lets me borrow her book while her and Ro share together. THANKS DELONNA. :) I just got done posting up some comments on Moodle so I don't have any missing assignments. This class is pretty straight forward and getting kind of hard again. :(

Hi Everyone!
I enjoyed class today! I learned something new each day! I hope everyone learned a little today! Well enjoy your day and keep it safe.

Whew!

Hello Classmates!

Today is a very hectic day. I worked in the morning and didn't get off till three o'clock. I had to rush all the way down to my house just to shower and get ready for school. I felt so bad because I was really red and jumpy. I looked like a crazy person whose hair was all over the place, and my face was red as an apple. Oh well, class today is regarding our moodle session and what we discussed. It's also on our new chapter that is on "Writing the Paragraph." The chapter is broken down into sections that will help us better our essays.

Headache!

Well today I went online at four to blog, moodle, and email Dr. Rivera but for some reason it said I didn't and I'm wondering what happened to my blog or my moodle. So that's the reason why I am online so early in the morning. Today for class was moodle again and I didn't forget thanks to Rowena Johnson. She even called me at 4 to remind me. Anyways, we had to write about stage 3, which deals with editing and revising, and things we need to fix up for our essay.

Blog numero uno

Hey everyone,
I just got home and I finally have the chance to use the computer. Well I just finished our moodle homework on stage 3 of the writing process. So now I'm blogging for my first blog of the week. Hope everyone had a good day today. I'll see you all on Thursday.

Hey Everyone!

Hey everyone! How are all of you doing? Well I'm just blogging. This is my first blog of the week. Anyways, are you guys getting use to this blogging and moodling thing already? I'm still trying to get use to it. Well see you guys in class!

What a day!!

I did the assignment that was due today. :) Thank you, thank you. Have fun everyone, and see you all on Thursday for class.

Greg, John & My Tooth!

Greg.. John.. & My tooth!

Greg and John safe flight,
and come home soon!
I just came home from "The Dentist,"
and I was about to cry, because the
Lady was super mean!
I looked at her, and said "Why are
you smiling?" She looked at me and replied,
"Well Dear, Why not?" I hope that everyone had a splendid evening. I'm
sitting her pretty much dozing off because of my
medication that was prescribed to me! It's alright I must
moodle, like it's an addiction! I'm pretty mad, my hunny's at
training, and I'm at home for now Moodling!
I could of at least wrote, hello.
But my thoughts are so big that I must write!

Love, & GodBless
Hey Everyone!
I hope everyone enjoyed the writing process on stage three. I'm trying to complete my assignment so I'll see everyone on moodle. Have a nice day!
Hi everyone! I hope everyone learned about The Writing Process: Stage Three. It lets us know how to use these stages of revising our essays using coherence, language, unity, emphasis, support, and sentences. I hope this helps in every way to correct our spelling errors, quotations, and capitalization. See you all in class.

-Rhonda

Boom!

Hey everyone,
I'm getting ready to login to my moodle account so I can complete the assignment. I hope everyone is now fluent with how Dr.Rivera works. Our moodle session is on Chapter 4; The Writing Process: Stage Three, it's the last of the three stages and it consists of revising, editing, and the demonstrations on all of the writing stages that we have learned so far. Enjoy the session and hope to see everyone next class time.

Sorry guys for not being online for the past week. I just found out that I am getting deployed. I will have my withdraw papers ready by tuesday. This class was fun. Hope to see all you guys soon.
Take care!

Wow!!

Hello to everyone!! Wow, outlining? Wasn't that fun? I thought it was neat how we learned that there are different names for outlining. To me I just thought an outline was just a outline, but finding out that there are name for the different types of outlines was cool. Now that I know and understand it I can really put it to use in my papers and also understand what type of paper I could be writing. Well that was my take on the lesson on Thursday! Well hope to see everyone on Moodle Tuesday!!

I've been thinking..

I've been thinking if one day, we'll all meet with the dead.
If we'll ever get to talk to them as if they never really left the earth.
Thinking that If I saved myself from being taken, that I would marry in heaven.
But who knows, I'm just so puzzled, about the after life, and when it's time to go.
Doesn't anyone wonder just like me?
Or am I the only one feeling like this? But then again, NO one will ever
feel JUST like me. Maybe a little, but never truly understand my feelings.
I thought about my present life, and I am happy, yet I am sad. I am who I am. Jaylene.

I've been thinking, who says you can think too much?
I am Jaylene, and these are my thoughts.

God Bless

My Quote: "If there is any one axiom..."

In my opinion, I think that in order for one's ability to grow or excel in any interest, one must be comfortable in the learning environment or be surrounded by people who have the same goals or occupation. For example, one who wants to learn fishing must go with someone who knows how to fish.

Outlining...

In class we learned different types of outlining. We did the exercise which I thought was quite fun and interesting. Out of all the types of outlining, I found exemplification the most enjoyable because if I were to do an outline I would most likely put it in that format. I also think analysis by division is the easiest one to do, because it can be only used to show how to make/do things. These are just some of my thoughts on outlining.

Thursday, January 29, 2009
Hi everyone! Today I've learned that Text-Based writing can help improve the skills of writing an essay. By using the sources of annotating, underlining, outlining, and quotations in an essay. I hope that it will teach me to improve in my writing skills.

Monday, February 2, 2009
Hafa Adai everyone! I hpe everyone enjoyed their day in class by listening to a few freewriting stories. I enjoyed their stories ,especially learning about the Writing Process. I can't wait to hear everyones quotes. So enjoy your week and have fun. Bye for now.

Sunday, February 8, 2009
Hi everyone! Well I hope everyone enjoyed writing about their essay. As for myself it was like freewriting.I just thought about myself and started to write without stopping. All I can say , is that it was a little difficult to write about. I did my best. Bye! for now.

Hi everyone! I've learned that writing the controlling idea to support the topic sentence will better a good essay. So, it will make the readers enjoy reading an essay wiyhout getting bored.

Thursday, February 12, 2009
Hafa Adai everyone! Today in class I've learned that organizing support needs materials : listing all ideas, clustering. and outlining. I really enjoyed the exercises we did in class, about completing outlines. We all had different ideas.
Also, may god bless John and I will pray for him.

Blog

Hey guys,
It's been awhile since we had class in the lab. I haven't blogged in awhile because I always seem to forget. So I'm going to try and remember to blog more often. Anyway, I had fun at class today. We finished up on chapter three reading about organizing our support and did our outline about what we free wrote last week. Oh and Camille did her presentation on her quote! Good job ^_^

Blogging

Hey everyone. Well I'm here in the lab with all of you. I am revising my essay right now. I think that's what you guys are doing too. Oh and I did my quote today! I was the first one, but it's okay. I hope you all liked it though.

Brain Fart =/

Well today, I was late once again for class. This is the second time I am I've gone to class. Surprisingly I am not that lost. I am really liking this class. Today we read about "Organizing Support". Pretty easy and understanding. Now we are brain storming about our next exercise. I just had a brain fart. I don't know what to write about. I have so much on my mind that is probably why. I am confused, sad, tired, drained, worried, impatient, lazy, excited, moody, and cramped with so much things I have to get done. So I am guessing that means that I am confused. I have gone through a lot in the past. Now that just gave me an idea of something to write about. Something that actually is true about my life. Something that happened recently. I hope we get to write more about it because I'd like to take it all out on paper.
Whoa, that is so cool. This class is getting more and more interesting! Ha ha.
a.n.d.r.e.a

Oops!

Hey guys,
Well I did a big no-no this past week, I accidentally posted a new discussion topic on our very own moodle room which I was not suppose to do; my bad. So, that's something that I need to work on, I know that I didn't do it the same last time but for some reason I guess I did it by accident; please forgive me! Today in class Dr.Rivera came late and I thought we would all be going home to our sweet beds, but she came and sure enough I found out I would be attending class on another work day.
Today in class we are covering the book, we had already gone through some blogger tips to let us drop our slang and bad punctuation, as well as our grammer. The chapter that we will be reading and going over is Chapter 3- The Writing Process : Stage Two. I hope everyone follows through with the discussion and learns something out of it.

*God bless Mr.John who has left our class, be safe, and fight hard!*
